What: Hands on Prescribed (Rx) Fire Workshop
When: September 30th near Menno, SD.
Check in 9:30 AM ready to brief at 10:00
Training from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM
Where: Directions to the Knodel Property Staging Area- From W US Hwy 18 & North 5th St in Menno, drive north 4 miles to 282nd St. Turn left/west 1 mile to 430th Ave. Turn right/north 0.75 miles. Driveway is on the west side of the road.

Training will be centered around the implementation of 5 Rx fire units in Central Hutchinson County.
The workshop is for landowners, Prescribed Burn Association members, resource professionals, or anyone else interested in using Rx fire.
Attendees can expect to gain experience in multiple areas of Rx fire implementation:
- Hands on execution of multiple Rx burns
- Use of various types of Rx fire equipment
- Ignition and suppression techniques
- Using fire to reduce eastern red cedar encroachment
What to bring: If planning to participate in the burns bring: eye protection (sunglasses), all leather gloves, Nomex or natural non-synthetic long sleeve shirts and pants, and leather boots. Some Nomex PPE will be available.
Food: Lunch, snacks and water are not provided, please bring your own.
